Having taken over his family’s 10-hectare domain in Mercurey in 1997 after a successful career as an international cooperage consultant and winemaker across the globe, Bruno Lorenzon brought a revolutionary mindset back to his native terroir. His background in cooperage (tonnellerie) gives him a unique mastery over wood integration—he personally selects, dries, and crafts his own barrels to ensure the oak frames the fruit with absolute transparency.

In the vineyard, Bruno’s farming is nothing short of extraordinary. Implementing high-density planting, high canopy management (inspired by Lalou Bize-Leroy to maximize photosynthesis), and strictly organic, non-interventionist practices, the estate employs over 1.5 workers per hectare—one of the highest labor ratios in Burgundy. In the cellar, native yeast fermentations and minimal sulfur additions allow the unique limestone and clay terroirs of Mercurey and Montagny to sing with intense purity, electric tension, and Côte d'Or-level sophistication.
